Beachside has been on Areia Branca for years — long enough that locals time their week by it. Friday cinema, Saturday lunch, the kids' menu, the Caesar argued over by visitors who insist it's the best in the world. The café is the front door; the hotel is upstairs.
The kitchen is built around what's good locally and what's worth flying in. Kathy ran an organic café in Australia for years before this one and the menu shows it — handcrafted, refined, no gimmicks. The bar is well stocked. The wine list is shorter than the cocktail list, on purpose.
Upstairs there are fourteen rooms and apartments. They are the only hotel rooms in Dili that look directly at the sunset, every night, year round. Breakfast is included. Same-day laundry is included. So is the WiFi, the air-con, the parking, and a 24-hour staffed gate. It's the easiest place in town to settle into.
